Daydream Dragons are the hosts of daydreams and fantasies. They spend the majority of their time sitting on clouds, dropping daydreams down into the minds of people passing by. Humans who live near Daydream Dragons must be especially careful not to let their thoughts wander, or they could end up spending hours or even days in a trance-like waking dream state.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Skyley is a young Daydream Dragon. She is very kind, caring and sweet, and is best friends with Vine Leaper and Water Gazer. Her mate is Cloudy Dorkface the White Dragon, whom she loves more than anything. She doesn't fear humans at all, considering she has only met a few. She spends a lot of her free time daydreaming on her cloud about various things, high in the sky with Cloudhealer. She is kind, caring, and very maternal towards the young hatchlings and eggs. She has a son named Squith, an adult White Dragon she had with Cloudy. Squith somehow never had an owner, and currently lives in the forest with the released dragons, where he will often wonder who his real parents are and why he doesn't have an owner. She also has another son who is a Daydream, named Lord Cloud. He is the head of the Laketooth clan, and often visits her and Sapphiro, who is his biological father, but Cloudy serves as Lord Cloud's adoptive father.
