Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Soot And Suet is a very vain dragon, and extremely picky about her looks. She can't stand to have even a hair out of place, and woe betide any stray pieces of dirt that happen her way. This, coupled with a rather haughty 'better-than-you' attitude, means she generally spends most of her time just sitting around making snobbish comments. Very seldom does she do any actual work—even at Christmas, rather than go and give out gifts, she sits and complains how cold it is. It's hardly surprising she's not particularly popular among other dragons (though little Vanxen absolutely adores her, he's constantly doting on her).
