It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

This comes across in his eagerness to volunteer for intense physical activities and otherwise strenuous tasks. His mate is Turkey Feather, a rather feminine dragoness. Although neither one would admit it, Turkey Feather is more of a trophy than a mate. There isn't much to her train of thought, however, she is undoubtedly an attractive dragoness. The two often produce viable offspring. Violet Vortex most often boasts about his sons and he is obviously very proud of all of them. Along with his male children, Violet Vortex is proud of his exceptional strength and his self-proclaimed masculinity.
