Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

A Gleam of Hope in the Shadows often appears to those who are sad or dying in the clan. He helps them look to the positive; just like he looked to the positive when dangershy used a freezing spell on him. Even though he wouldn't get to be an adult, he saw that he would have more oppertunities to do things that he couldn't when he was an adult. He saw that he could enjoy being youthful and energetic, that he wouldn't get worn bones. His mind's eye hardly even looked towards the dark, because it would be upsetting. The light of happiness led him to his want to help others through their times of sorrow, to show them that there would be a second life, a better life for them when they died. His high spirits makes others cheerful and happy, especially during the holiday seasons.
