When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Along with his sister, Sunakii, Sunakoo was abandoned as an egg near a small river. Once he and his sister hatched, they made it their goal to find others of their kind; little did they know that they were abandoned in a very dry part of the world, with few large bodies of water fit for any water dragon. They spent years wandering, swimming in the small river, until they finally came upon the sea; it was there that they met more of their kind and flourished in the salty waters. They now roam the ocean, exploring its vast reaches for any more abandoned or lost hatchlings and eggs. Sunakoo is very much like his sister, loving and kind, but he is extremely protective of Sunakii and any small dragon or egg.
