Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Sistrath was one of the early dragons to become part of the clan. There was an accident shortly after her mother had laid her egg and Sistrath's egg became separated from her parents. Her egg was found by Syler Dragos during one of the red dragon's hunting trips and was brought back to the Dragos clan. Sistrath was raised by the older members of the clan and decided to stay after she was full grown. She was trained by Syler to hunt for and protect the clan. Her strong gold scales protect her so she can take heavy blows from attackers, allowing others in the clan to either retreat or attack.
