White Dragons are pacifists and specialize in extremely strong healing magic. The only limit of this magic is that it can’t bring back the dead. They only eat plants and never kill living things.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

When Shalynaren's heritage was tracked and his relation to the famous pairing Midas Dorkface and Shallynaar was discovered, many dragons began to call him "Dorkface," the surname for members of that family. However he was too young to understand that the name referred to his heritage alone and took it to be a terrible insult. As he grew, this thinking remained. So many use that name that he has started to believe it; that he is nothing more than a dork (not that he knows what a "dork" is, but it must be something awful). It upsets him so much that he often struggles with things he is gifted in, like healing. He is so afraid that he will fail, proving to everyone that he is truly a dork to be mocked.

In attempt to give him confidence, his owner formally renamed him Shalynaren in honor of one of the progenitors of his famous family. But this has failed to make a difference. With so many dragons of that family, the name often is spoken towards him without thought.
