Royal Blue dragons are a nocturnal breed who prefer to live high in the mountains near slow-moving water that reflects the night sky. Although quite capable of defending themselves, they are peaceful by nature and will avoid a fight whenever possible.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

As a hatchling, Driplit was promised to do great things. Her tribe's oracle had seen from the stars her destiny, spanning out through years. However, the prophecy stated that Driplit must be the only of her kind if it were to come true. This scripture has caused many Royal Blue dragon eggs to be abandoned. Driplit must choose to live in solitude or lose her chance at becoming an epic tale known for generations.
