Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Vined Light is a very pompous, proud dragon. As the first born child of the prize dragon (light), Vined Light considers himself royalty. The other dragons in the cave begrudgingly put up with Vined Light, even though many of them are older. Because his lineage is very strict, Vined Light is only allowed to be with a select few dragons as mates. Vined Light and his primary mate, Vanira, do not get along, their marriage being arranged by their human owner. Vined Light only interacts with his mates when it's time to try and breed a new egg. Vined Light hasn't wanted to keep any of his eggs once they've been bred, and he is very disenchanted with the idea of family. Because Vined Light is the only second gen Tinsel in his master's cave, Vined Light lives in as much luxury as his human can afford. Because he's so spoiled, Vined Light is afraid that if another super rare dragon enters the cave, he'll be replaced. Vined Light therefore tends to snarl at any dragon his owner considers rare.
