White Dragons are pacifists and specialize in extremely strong healing magic. The only limit of this magic is that it can’t bring back the dead. They only eat plants and never kill living things.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Whitewing is one of the oldest White dragons in his Clan, the largest coalition of the many dragons who make up the City at the peak of Val'Direa Mountain. As a Clan elder, Whitewing's voice holds sway in public matters, and as a wise dragon, he knows to use his influence only when necessary. Like for Princess Eve. She's an Old One who appears in the coldest weeks of winter with golden wings and eyes like dark evergreens, and she has needed extra care the last several centuries.

Whitewing thinks something happened to her in the Great War, something that made her memory a sieve. She appeared on the mountain one winter morning years after the War and though she snapped at those who approached her at first, Whitewing recognized her from the days of the Old Featherwing Weyr. He calmed her, gave her a cave near his own, watched over her until she felt safe again.

She doesn't always know it's him, but he remembers her from their days in the sun of peace. He will be sure she is taken care of.
