When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

This creature is unique in that not a single scale of her has ever been seen in clear weather; no trace of her can be found when the skies are mild. But when the great ocean storms begin, she makes her appearances, steadying boats struggling against the tempest, lifting fallen sailors out of the brink and setting them back on their vessels, and guiding the floundering ships out of the storm. Naturally, those she aids are extremely grateful, and seek to pay her back, but they can never locate her. Although sometimes, one might think they can pick out a serpentine shape within the sheets of rain, if they peer out the windows of a building on the dock, but it is simply too hard to tell.
