Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Discovered by a group of hatchlings, Turambar's egg was brought to the Durelen Clan's hatchery. None, not even the Elders knew what sort of dragon would hatch out of the strange egg and there was much excitement on the day the shell started to crack. That excitement quickly turned to horror and revulsion, when they saw the grotesque thing within it, causing numerous demands for the newborn to be taken back to the forest where it was found. Deeply disturbed, Laputa gathered the Founders and after a long discussion they decided against abandoning the helpless creature, at least until it would be able to fend for itself. Noticing the hatchling's unusual food preference, she took extra care to spend a lot of time with Turambar and taught him to control his cravings for blood, thus successfully integrating him into their society. Despite his efforts to fit in, most females, especially the mothers, still distrust him and make sure they keep their eggs well out of his reach.
