Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It loves to chase butterflies.

And look, it has grown wings that release a faint, spicy scent when it waves them. It must be nearly mature.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Though he may seem rather cute and sweet at first, few will willingly approach Oolong without a very good reason. Frozen as a hatchling due to numerous medical issues, he refuses any assistance from older or healthier dragons. Even those with the best intentions risk getting snapped at, literally or verbally, and are forced to watch the sickly hatchling struggle with small tasks. He's even gone so far as to intentionally avoid his appointments at the infirmary, leading to many a search party sent out to find the little Tea and drag him back to the clan. All Oolong wants to be is normal, and he expresses his hatred of relying on others by lashing out at them. He finds solace in writing poetry, a simple activity and one where he relies on no dragon except himself.
